IntroductiON
A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Manufacturing is for any professional who wants to use Lean Six Sigma skills at the highest level to improve processes, production lines and product quality in mainly a manufacturing setting. A Black Belt for Manufacturing will spend an extra 2 days (vs Black Belt Services) on Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Design of Experiments (DOE), topics that can be of much relevance in manufacturing! If you want to drive operational excellence in all your manufacturing departments, including change management this is the training for you!
Delivering tangible results for the organization is the ultimate goal of any Lean Six Sigma initiative. This ensures that the program builds credibility, creates early momentum and buy-in throughout the organization. It is not uncommon that completed projects deliver 4-5x Return on Investment (ROI) from the Lean Six Sigma initiative in terms of cost savings, quality improvements and/or better customer experience.
Training variants
Attend a classroom training session and enjoy interaction with fellow students. Share ideas, learn from group exercises and discuss project ideas with your trainer, even from the first day. Our classrooms are all about interactivity and our practical exercises will help you develop your own Lean insights.
Interactivity and engagement are key for all of our trainings. Together with your fellow students, you will explore various tools and methods such as Push & Pull, Poka Yoke, Kaizen events, 5S and much more. The same quality as our classroom training sessions but from the comfort of your home or office.
Curriculum
This course includes both Lean and Six Sigma. Lean is all about speed and improving cycle times. Six Sigma is all about reducing variation and defects. As a Black Belt for Manufacturing you will master the skills to solve both challenges for your organization.
With this course, you will learn to achieve statistically substantiated improvements. The course also delves deeper into designing processes from scratch using Lean Six Sigma methods and tools.
After the course, you will be able to conduct high complexity Black Belt projects such as those which will require Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and/or Design of Experiments (DOE) studies.
The topics are covered in such a practical manner that you can apply what you have learned in the field immediately.
To be an effective Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing Black Belt you will need the skills to mobilize staff and departments whilst acting as a valued advisor to senior management in terms of quality management. For this reason, we will spend time on your analytical skills as well as your organizational skills.
Included in the Certification journey is a coached project and in total will take approximately 3-4 months. Below we list some of our learning materials which you can pick and choose from to study and prepare for your class sessions.
Getting certified
Successfully completing one of our trainings is awarded with an internationally recognized certificate. But what exactly determines the worth of a certificate? We explain why a certificate from The Lean Six Sigma Company is of a higher standard than others on the value of your certificate page.
Financial details
The path to becoming certified as a Black Belt according to the ISO 18404 standards requires you to complete both a theory training and an in-field Lean Six Sigma project. The theory training takes place over the course of multiple days and is supported by a full digital suite of preparation materials. For the project you will receive coaching and project review from an experienced Lean Six Sigma expert.
If circumstances do not allow for a project during the same timeframe as the theory training, it is possible to start with theory only and to move on to your project at a later point in time.

FAQ
Every training we provide assumes our students start the training without any understanding of the Lean Six Sigma methodology. It starts with the fundamentals and explains every topic that is mentioned without assuming prior experience. During the training, you will carry out simulations and exercises to help you develop your knowledge. If you choose to carry out a project as part of your training, you will be coached and assisted by one of the (Master) Black Belts of The Lean Six Sigma Company to help you get started.
Any individual that wants to become an expert and master the Lean Six Sigma skills to work on more complex projects relating to cycle time, cost savings, errors and defect reduction and customer experience improvements
Lean Six Sigma is a methodology that one can start using during any career phase and this training is the ideal starting point. Even as a beginner, your work can add tremendous value. Lean Six Sigma can serve as an addition to your current work, replacing a part of your existing responsibilities. Or it can become a new full-time career, depending on the training you choose.
The Services training is most fitting for those employed in transactional careers such as general administration, logistics, finance, etc. The ‘Manufacturing’ training is most fitting for those involved with mass production, machinery, factories and automation). While the Of course, those who complete the Manufacturing training can still carry out projects in the aforementioned transactional fields.
The Green Belt training has very little statistics content, as opposed to our Black Belt course. Yet even the Black Belt courses have designed to start at the very basics, on the assumption that our students aren’t familiar with anything related to statistics. We realize the idea of working with statistics can sound somewhat intimidating, but our trainers have helped thousands of students understand (and find their interest in) statistics. Additionally, we offer complementary courses and several videos on our MyTraining™ platform that will help you prepare for, or repeat, specific exercises.
More information about our worldwide presence can be found on our theleansixsigmacompany.eu worldmap page, here you will find in which countries we are currently active and offer training.
The main difference is the scope of your projects. Green Belt projects are usually aimed at solving issues that affect a small part of a single department. Black Belt projects tend to tackle long-standing, complex issues that cross departmental lines. The responsibilities of a Green Belt align with those of a project manager. Black Belts carry more responsibilities and take a more active, leading role where they direct other Green Belts during projects.
